Steve Picks Again!
The first one is the Rocky Patel Edge Sumatra Toro ($8.95). One of the most consistent cigars I have ever smoked. Excellent draw and burn with a long ash. The Ecuadorian grown sumatra seed wrapper adds a creaminess and a bit of dark chocolate on the palate. One of my favorite ‘go to’ smokes.
Next up is the Casa Magna Limited ($11.95) The Sumatra Habana wrapper and the Nicarauguan filler and binder bring a new medium bodied offering to the Casa Magna line. All of the flavor of the rest of their line with a smoothness reminiscent of a Dominican Puro. (Puro: filler, binder and wrapper are all from the same country.) This is the cheesecake of the Casa Magna line with a creamy richness and satisfying amounts of smoke.
Finally, the San Lotano Oval ($11.95). This is a solid medium cigar with a lighter flavor than their medium maduro offering with hints of white pepper, leather and a pleasing nuttiness. Harkening back to the Fuente Shark, this cigar is box pressed on two sides, rounded on the other two. With a very consistent draw and burn and a full mouth feel, this is sure to satisfy smokers from all areas of the cigar spectrum.
